BCP Wrestling
2024 - 2025
Since our first state champion in 2012, the wrestling program at BCP has quickly grown to be one of the top teams in Virginia. Since then, the team has won 28 Individual National Prep All-American honors, 35 Individual VISAA State Titles, and 5 VISAA Team State Championships.
With Benedictine values as our backbone, a winning culture is being fostered in the BCP Wrestling Room, and our goals now reach beyond just the state of Virginia – we are aspiring to be a top program in the country!
Our coaches promote virtues in a young man that will benefit him for a lifetime: Faith, Sacrifice, Humility, Work Ethic, Courage, & Mental Toughness. Helping to form their athletes into virtuous men is priority #1 for our coaching staff. Virtuous men make victorious wrestlers!
Off the mat, BCP wrestlers strive for excellence in the classroom and as leaders in the Benedictine, Catholic, and Richmond communities.
BCP Wrestling has graduated athletes who have gone on to compete at the US Air Force Academy, Virginia Military Institute, Virginia Tech, The Citadel, West Virginia University, Old Dominion University, Belmont Abbey College, Roanoke College, and Ferrum College.
Since 2018, the team has been led by head coach, David Yost, recipient of the 2020 VISAA Wrestling Head Coach of the Year award. Coach Yost also serves as the VISAA Wrestling Chairman and Virginia Board-member for the National Prep Wrestling Championships.
